Brief description of Current Primary Focus:

As co-founder of MDH Breathing Coordination, along with my teaching partner, Robin DeHaas, I conduct introductory workshops and training programs, sometimes in the USA, always in Lausanne, Switzerland.  Both Principles of Breathing Coordination, based on the work of Carl Stough, and Ideokinesis, based on the work of Mabel Todd, Dr. Lulu Sweigard, Dr. Drid Williams, and Irene Dowd, inform my teaching.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Fordham University; private study of Breathing Coordination with Carl Stough (1975 to his death in 2000) and Ideokinesis with Dr. Drid Williams, Irene Dowd, and André Bernard, at various times from 1975 to present.

Learning Experiences Related to Mabel Todd’s Educational Legacy:

Private study with the above-named teachers;  I co-taught with André Bernard in both the Dance Education program and the Tisch Dance program at NYU, at various times during André’s tenure there;  I continued to teach those classes after André’s death until I retired in 2017.

Professional activities, publications, areas of research, or personal inquiry related to the goals of TBI:

Articles written for The Journal for the Anthropological Study of Human Movement, under the direction of Dr. Drid Williams and Dr. Brenda Farnell (University of Illinois).  I have used ideokinetic principles based on the work of Todd, Sweigard, Williams, and Dowd to inform my public and private teaching of Breathing Coordination and Ideokinesis.
