The first half of Barbara Clark’s collection is now available for viewing by TBI Archive subscribers. Part I: The Boston Years places focus on Clark’s study with Todd and her work with children. It includes notes and reflections from her first lessons with Todd and the studio teachers. As a Registered Nurse, Clark used Todd’s table teaching to promote the motor development of infants and toddlers. Extensive notes on each “child case” provide insights into her lesson procedures. Later, Clark created a curriculum and equipment that helped preschool children develop awareness of ideal upright balance. The collection concludes with records of her activities in Boston nursery schools.
